What the2025 record actually establishes
HYPERVSN’s1August2025 case describes permanent installations at tm:rw in TimesSquare’s CandlerBuilding: an interior display wall, street-facing imagery and an in-store AI avatar. This is a supplier’s account of its own installation. Its superlatives and engagement language are not independent evidence of a world record, increased sales or an avatar’s accuracy. The publication date is known; this article does not invent a separate installation-completion date. HYPERVSN ↗
The value of the case is its division of jobs. A passerby sees a window, a visitor encounters an interior destination and someone seeking information may approach an interactive interface. Treating those as one enormous screen obscures the different viewing distances, attention spans and staffing needs. A smaller shop can learn from that separation without reproducing the installation’s scale.
The street is not a dark demo room
HYPERVSN’s SmartVWall material describes a scalable display system rather than a single stand-alone image. That product context helps explain why the installation belongs in an AV and content-management brief. It does not provide an as-built drawing of tm:rw, and we do not infer its device count, electrical load or mounting details from a promotional photograph. HYPERVSN ↗
For your own window, sketch the approach from both directions and include the glass, reflections, background and public boundary. Test a short content loop from where someone first notices it, not only from the camera position used for approval. Ask an installer to establish mounting, enclosure and maintenance requirements for the exact system. These are proposed project checks, not a safety certification or a claim about this venue’s engineering.
Give each zone its own acceptance question
The reported interior wall, window and avatar provide three useful evaluation categories. For the window, ask whether the product and intended action are understood during a passing glance. For the interior, ask where a visitor can stand without obscuring circulation. For the avatar, ask what information it may provide and how someone reaches a human when its response is uncertain. The last question concerns service quality, not just image quality. HYPERVSN ↗
Keep observation separate from conversion. A crowd stopping to film can demonstrate attention without demonstrating purchases, comprehension or repeat visits. Define a useful outcome before commissioning more spectacular media. If measurement is proposed, agree the method and privacy requirements separately. PresenceAtlas has no store analytics, visitor interviews or firsthand observations from this installation, so none are implied by the case study.
Plan a visit without assuming a specific demo
The venue’s own location page currently identifies its flagship at220West42ndStreet. Its experience page lists several distinct attractions and booking paths. Those pages establish a venue and current visitor information; they do not guarantee that every element described in the2025 supplier case operates on a particular day. Confirm the display you want to see before making a special trip. tm:rw ↗ · tm:rw ↗
Bring a small observation sheet: first sightline, readable content, room lighting, sound, enclosure, update routine and recovery. Ask only for information the venue is willing to share; do not assume a retail visit includes technical access. The transferable lesson is that an installation connects content to a physical journey. Buying a visually similar component on a marketplace is only the beginning of recreating that relationship.
What this does not establish
- Supplier-reported installation; no on-site reporting or audited business outcome.
- Exact installation date and current operation of every element unverified.
Uncited evaluation suggestions are editorial analysis. No hands-on testing, interview or site visit is claimed.
