What the rotor is doing
A spinning LED display times its light output as the rotor moves. Persistence of vision makes the moving lights read as an image. HYPERVSN describes a four-ray rotor and a software suite for content and device management. That is a more useful starting description than treating the word “hologram” as a specification.
Marketplace listings often place quite different devices under the same search term. Use Alibaba as a discovery route, then compare the exact rotor model, included controller, enclosure, mounting arrangement and content software. A low device price is difficult to interpret if those parts are absent from the listing.
Request the file-to-display test
Send one representative asset to each shortlisted supplier. Ask for an uncut demonstration showing startup, upload and playback on the quoted model. Include a clip with small details and a dark interval so you can judge framing and the visible structure. These are proposed procurement steps; we have not tested individual marketplace sellers.
Check whether a visible enclosure is included in the demonstration and in the price. Ask how a person changes content without entering the moving assembly’s space, who performs maintenance, and what replacement parts are available. A display positioned behind a window has different access requirements from one beside a visitor queue.
Price the installation you will own
Request separate line items for hardware, enclosure, stand or mounting, content preparation, software access, freight and support. Confirm minimum order quantity, the exact destination and which import costs remain yours. Save the supplier’s responses against the model number and quote date.
For a venue, ask to see a comparable operating installation and speak through the daily routine with its operator if a supplier can arrange that. The comparison is not just between a cheap fan and an expensive fan. It is between complete ways to display, update and maintain the image through the life of your project.
